ROTHERHAM United have lost no sleep over the decision of striker Billy Sharp to reject the chance of a move to AESSEAL New York Stadium in favour of a new challenge in the United States.

The Millers made an offer to the 37-year-old hitman, who was a free agent after leaving Sheffield United, a number of weeks ago but had reduced it and turned their attentions to other centre-forwards as the wait for an answer dragged on.

The Championship's all-time top scorer this week made a trans-Atlantic flight to Los Angeles to sign for MLS side LA Galaxy on a one-year deal with the option of a further 12 months.

Rotherham have several frontmen on their radar as they look to add three more players - on top of today's deal for midfielder Christ Tiehi - to their second-tier squad before the September 1 close of the transfer window.

Discussions with those attackers and their clubs are taking place.

“Potentially, we could bring in another striker on a permanent deal,” said manager Matt Taylor. “We are open to all circumstances. It's not one striker target only. We've got a few irons in the fire.”

He confirmed the forwards in which the Millers are interested are with other teams and aren't free agents.
