ROTHERHAM United tonight made their 13th signing of the summer with a deadline-day swoop for Aston Villa youngster Sebastian Revan.

The 20-year-old has joined the Championship Millers on a season-long loan from the Premier League outfit and will provide competition for the left-back spot held by Cohen Bramall.

The Midlands-born player, who has been at Villa Park since he was eight, had his first taste of senior action for Unai Emery's earlier this week when he played in a 3-0 Europa Conference League win over Scottish side Hibernian.

He won the FA Youth Cup with Villa in 2021 and in the following season spent time on loan at Grimsby Town who were then in the National League.

His capture, confirmed with this evening's 11pm close of play looming, completes the Millers' recruitment in this transfer window.

Manager Matt Taylor is pleased with the business done during a period in which the club twice broke their transfer record, including smashing it with yesterday's £1-million-plus acquisition of striker Sam Nombe from Exeter City.

Revan, who was on Villa's Premier League bench for an away win at Leicester City in April, has signed too late to be part of the squad for tomorrow's home clash with Norwich City and his first chance to play will come at Huddersfield Town on September 16 following the international break.
