Rotherham United hit by FA charge

Richard Wood is yellow-carded last Saturday

ROTHERHAM United have been charged by the FA after a mass melee in their Championship clash at Millwall last Saturday.

Tempers flared in the 56th minute when a challenge by Millers captain Richard Wood on Lions goalkeeper Jordan Archer sparked a penalty-area dust-up involving virtually every outfield player.

The FA allege that Rotherham "failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion".

Millwall face a similar rap and both clubs have until 6pm on Thursday to respond.

Wood was booked for the foul but referee Andy Madley took no action against any player involved in the fracas.

Millwall boss Neil Harris claimed Wood should have been sent off, describing the centre-half's attempt to win the ball as "waist high" and "horrendous".
