The boss, whose team top League One, is happy with the talent at his disposal but will make a move if the right target becomes available in the January transfer window.

“If we can find a player who is better than what we’ve got and is affordable to us we will try to sign him,” he said.

“The recruitment team are always working hard trying to find us other options.

“It’s about trying to add in an area where we’re a little bit thinner.

“I’ll keep details of that close to my chest.

“In some places, like the middle of the park, we’re really strong. The three centre mids (Ben Wiles, Ollie Rathbone and Dan Barlaser) are playing really well, aided and abetted by Jamie Lindsay and Haks Odoffin. There’s no need to look in that department.

“We’ll look at other parts of the team, even more so if we lose someone.”

Warne would be content with a window of no new arrivals as long as there were no exits either.

Chairman Tony Stewart has pledged to keep the Millers’ main men at the club but the departure of fringe players is a possibility.

“January windows are to put right what you got wrong in the summer or to react to what’s happened in the first half of the season,” Warne said.

“I don’t think we got much wrong in the summer and we don’t have to react to a lot because the team are doing really well.”
