Millers fans warned of Barnsley travel delays

ROTHERHAM United supporters heading to the South Yorkshire derby at Barnsley on Saturday have been told to expect delays.

The A628 Westway has been closed since a building fire at the old Chicago Rock nightclub last Thursday.

A spokesman for Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council said traffic delays were expected and a cordon remains in place around the building.

Westway is closed between Town End Roundabout and the Alhambra Roundabout.

Fans have also been warned to expect disruption to rail services.

Trains will not be able to call at Rotherham Central and replacement bus services will run between Meadowhall and Swinton from August 27 to 29 and September 4.

Replacement bus services will run between Rotherham and Meadowhall but fans have been advised to use supporters’ coaches and alternative transport where possible.
