Millers can hit the top, believes Noble

MIDFIELDER David Noble insists that a top-two finish isn't out of the question for Rotherham United if they can play to their potential in the run-in.

Tuesday's win at Bristol Rovers left them five points behind second-placed Port Vale with 14 games left and 42 points to play for.

Vale and Gillingham have monopolised the top two spots for most of the campaign while their nearest rivals have scrapped it out for the third and final automatic promotion slot.

Noble says the Millers still have the chance to go and grab it but also says that isn't necessarily the most they can achieve.

"Everyone can talk about what has happened so far but this is the most important part of the season and we have put ourselves in the right position," he told the Advertiser.

"This is when the games really count. They're massive ones and we have to step up and put the performances in.

"We're sitting nicely with games in hand but you need the points. No-one has taken that third spot by the scruff of the neck and if we can put a few runs together I don't think the top two are out of sight yet."
