Match File ... a focus on Saturday's Rotherham United opponents, Shrewsbury Town
The Shrews enjoy a trip north
Rotherham United are about to come up against a side who are used to winning at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Shrewsbury Town are this weekend’s League Two visitors and they have never lost at the Millers’ home.
In five New York matches since the stadium opened in 2012, the Shrews have triumphed on three occasions and drawn the other two matches.
Town have a long record of doing well away to Rotherham, with their unbeaten run going back to the Don Valley Stadium days and stretching, in total, to nine games and 19 years.
The last time they lost was in November 2007 at Millmoor when goals from Ryan Taylor and Derek Holmes gave Rotherham a 2-0 fourth-tier win.
Shrewsbury have in their ranks loanee Lino Sousa who spent time with the Millers last term.
The left-back’s stay at New York wasn’t successful and he made only one start and four substitute’s appearances after his January arrival from Aston Villa.
The 21-year-old has played four times for the Shrews who are in eighth place after winning their last two matches.
One to watch
George Lloyd joined Shrewsbury in 2024 after his departure from Cheltenham Town and has made more than 100 appearances for them. Now aged 26, the forward started out as a youngster at Cheltenham for whom he also racked up a century of outings. He has scored 14 times for the Shrews, with four of his goals coming in 14 games this term.

Last meeting
Rotherham were trailing at home to Shrewsbury in a League One encounter in February 2025 during the managerial reign of Steve Evans. The Millers equalised in the 76th minute through Hakeem Odoffin only for the visitors to seal a 2-1 win only seconds later with a John Marquis goal.
Opposition boss
Gavin Cowan has been head coach of the Shrews since January after leaving his manager's job at Brackley Town to take the role. He is a former Shrews centre-half but spent most of his 17-year playing career in non-league football. Last term, he led the club out of the League Two drop zone to a 19th-place finish. The 45-year-old won promotion from National League North title with Brackley in 2025.
Man in the middle
James Oldham has been an EFL referee since 2019 and takes charge of games in League One, League Two and the National League. His last experience of Rotherham came in March last season when the Millers let a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 at home to Bolton Wanderers. In seven matches this term, the Derbyshire official has issued 31 yellow cards and sent off one player.
The odds
The bookmakers favour the Millers, offering 13/10 on a home win and 19/10 on an away triumph. A draw is 11/5.
