ROTHERHAM United will play either Scunthorpe or Charlton in the League One play-offs.

Scunthorpe's win over Plymouth last night moves them fifth and in line for a meeting with the fourth-placed Millers in the two-legged semi-final should positions remain the same after this weekend's final games.

Charlton, in sixth, will need to win at relegation-threatened Rochdale on Saturday and Scunthorpe lose at home to Bradford in order to take fifth spot. The Addicks have a far inferior goals difference.

Scunthorpe can still mathematically take fourth position from Rotherham but would be dependant on a win, accompanied by a defeat for the Millers at home to Blackpool, with a five-goal swing. Any meeting with the Millers would pit Paul Warne against his former Millers team-mate Nick Daws, now caretaker manager of the Iron following the sacking of Graham Alexander in March.

Paul Warne and Richie Barker share a joke with their old Rotherham team-mate and now Scunthorpe caretaker boss Nick Daws before the Millers' win at Glanford Park in February.

Plymouth's play-off hopes are all but gone, trailing Charlton by three points and with an inferior goals difference.

Providing the Millers retain fourth spot, they will be away in the first leg next Saturday, May 12  (12.30pm), with the return at the AESSEAL New York Stadium on Wednesday, May 16 (7.45pm).
