Hide AdHigh liked what he heard and saw and was happy to make the switch to South Yorkshire.
He joined Huddersfield as a nine-year-old, coming through the youth ranks to make 25 appearances last term as the Terriers reached the second-tier play-off final where they lost out to Nottingham Forest on a place in the Premier League.
Rotherham have had him on their recruitment list for several weeks and have tracked him through pre-season.
Rotherham have signed three players in six days - defenders Grant Hall and Lee Peltier and now High - as they gear up for tomorrow's New York clash against Swansea City.

Hide AdWarne wants to and a second midfield man to his squad and has identified a free-transfer target.
"The midfield is the strongest part of our team but we are only ever one or two injuries away from a disaster," he said.

The boss remains in the market for a striker and has spoken to two players but no arrival is imminent.
