Hasselbaink not in the running, says Tony

JIMMY Floyd-Hasselbaink is NOT in the running to be the next manager of Rotherham United because he has burnt his bridges with the club.

Hasselbaink allegedly showed interest in the post when it fell vacant during his time at tomorrow's opponents Burton Albion — only to then state publicly that he had turned the job down.

Hasselbaink eventually moved to QPR, where he was sacked recently.

Chairman Tony Stewart recalled: "He pleaded with us for an interview. We already had a shortlist but one or the two guys here said he was a young guy and might be worth speaking to. He asked us to put it in an email for a meeting and then the next day in the national press he said he'd turned the Rotherham job down!

"I rang Ben (Robinson), the chairman at Burton, and told him the story. Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink went to QPR and will be regretting what he did. He will never be a manager while I am here."
