Has an injection ended Rotherham United defender Clark Robertson's groin worries?

ROTHERHAM United are unable to give Clark Robertson the injury all-clear despite the centre-half's injection in his troublesome groin.

The 26-year-old underwent the procedure last Tuesday but says he is still bothered by the soreness.

He played in the 1-0 League One defeat at home to Rochdale last Saturday and the condition remains manageable for now, but the Millers had been hoping for a more positive outcome.

"I don't think the injection has been overly successful, admitted manager Paul Warne.

"When he turned up to train last Friday he was hoping that he would be pain-free. He wasn't."

Rotherham are giving the injection more time to have an effect while Robertson continues to be treated by the club's physiotherapy department.

"Hopefully, with everything else he is doing, the injection will help to settle things down," Warne said.

The defender was clearly affected by the problem in recent league matches at MK Dons and Portsmouth and in the FA Cup triumph at Solihull Moors on December 2.

"I thought he looked a bit more mobile against Rochdale. although he still looked sore once late on," Warne added.

"He's improved a little bit from the other Monday night at Solihull, that's for sure."

Meanwhile, teenage central defender Jake Cooper has joined National League North Gateshead on a month's loan.
