Minnows Iceland weren't expected to get anything from the game, but restricted Portugal to few chances and snatched a draw when Birkir Bjarnason equalised after former Manchester United midfielder Nani had given Portugal the lead.

Ronaldo said after the game: "I thought they'd won the Euros the way they celebrated at the end.

"It was unbelievable. We tried hard to win the game and Iceland didn't try anything."

But Arnason (33), who helped Rotherham to double promotion into the Championship before leaving for Swedish side Malmo FF last summer, said: "Ronaldo says we parked the bus?

"He's just a sore loser. He didn't want to lose the game.

"What does he expect? For us to play like Barcelona against him?

"He fannies about and dives around."
