Fan facing Millers ban over racism claim

A ROTHERHAM United fan accused of using racist abuse may be subject to punishment from the club or South Yorkshire Police.

A ROTHERHAM United fan accused of using racist abuse is facing action by the club and investigation by South Yorkshire Police.

Millers officials have confirmed that the details of a supporter were handed over to the police after Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Yorkshire rivals Bradford City at the New York Stadium.

A spokesman said that initial steps had already been taken to ban the culprit from future games, adding: “The club would like to emphasise that we operate has a zero tolerance policy on discrimination of any sort.

“Anyone found to be in breach of this rule will receive a lifetime banning order.”

“While we hope this is an isolated incident anyone wishing to anonymously report discrimination or inappropriate behaviour.”
