Done deal! Andre Green is a Rotherham United player

ROTHERHAM United today wrapped up a permanent deal for Andre Green after the striker scored in both of his games during a ten-day trial with the club.

The free agent has signed a two-year contract at AESSEAL New York Stadium and is expected to be in the squad when the Millers kick off the new Championship campaign at Stoke City on Saturday.

The former Aston Villa prospect, aged 25, spent the last two seasons in Slovakia with Slovan Bratislava and Rotherham had to wait for international clearance before announcing his capture.

Terms were agreed last week following his pre-season outings in wins over Mansfield Town and Sheffield United.

The Solihull-born player didn't require a work permit because he holds a British passport.

Manager Matt Taylor said: "He’s shown his quality and I think there is so much more to come from him physically. He's a good age, he's got a good physical profile and he can run like the wind."
