THE Millers made it one in and one out on transfer deadline day.
THE Millers made it one in and two out on transfer deadline day.

Central midfielder Richie Smallwood left on a year long loan to League One Scunthorpe, while young defender Dael Fry joined for the same period from Middlesbrough.

Tom Thorpe made the switch to League One Bolton after the window had shut, although the deal had been tied up before 11pm.

Rotherham didn't manage to secure the services of a striker, despite interest in several players throughout the window.

Despite the transfer window closing, the Millers could still sign free agents.

This move didn't materialise but there was plenty of action to come later in the evening.

The first activity of the day saw popular midfielder Richie Smallwood exit the Millers for League One Scunthorpe at around 6.30pm.
