Hide AdFormer Huddersfield boss Lee Clark and ex-Miller Mark Robins last night emerged as favourites after the potential bosses were interviewed this week after a deluge of over 40 applicants was whittled down to a shortlist.
But Chairman Tony Stewart and the Millers’ board could switch tack after late night deliberations with some high-profile names also in the running.
Stewart told the Advertiser yesterday: “We’ve spoken to five candidates, three on Wednesday and two on Thursday and it’s a tough decision to take.
“There are some pretty big names in there and we have been delighted with the interest shown in the job.”
