INJURY-HIT Rotherham United are facing more problems at the heart of their backline because of a new issue suffered by Grant Hall.

The centre-half, who had just returned from a two-month-plus absence caused by hamstring trouble, now has a hip complaint.

“He had it at the end of his hamstring rehab,” manager Matt Taylor said. “He's not felt anything pull or ‘go’ at any stage.

“It's a dull ache and stops him fully extending himself. He could go and train right now but in a game where he's got to put the ‘burners’ on and go to his maximum, that's where he's a little bit restricted.”

The injury is likely to rule Hall out of Friday night's home clash with Ipswich Town and may extend to next Wednesday's visit of Coventry City and the following Sunday's derby clash at Sheffield Wednesday.

Taylor said: “There's the possibility of an injection, possibly another scan, possibly another specialist.

“Grant's symptoms are minimal today. But we still have to respect the issue because of where he is body-wise. Let's see in the next few days whether this totally drops out and settles down.”

Rotherham are without two other central defenders in Cameron Humphreys and Tyler Blackett but better news is is that centre-back Sean Morrison (calf) and midfielder Hakeem Odoffin have been in full training during the international break and are available for selection on Friday evening.

Another midfielder, Lindsay Lindsay (achilles) is back on the grass at Roundwood but not yet ready to play.

Meanwhile, Viktor Johansson's return to the Millers from international duty has been delayed because of the killings that took place in Brussels on Monday night before the Belgium-v-Sweden match.

Because of terrorism concerns, the goalkeeper and his teammates have been back in Sweden awaiting clearance to fly back to their clubs and he is due to set foot on English soil again in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Taylor spoke to him on the phone yesterday.
