Manager Matt Taylor gives the Advertiser the latest update.

A TRIO of players are on course to receive the injury all-clear and be available for selection when Rotherham United make the Championship trip to Sunderland next weekend.

Strikers Andre Green and Tom Eaves and centre-half Grant Hall only just missed out on squad places for yesterday's 2-2 home draw with Blackburn Rovers following groin, calf and hamstring issues respectively.

All three are poised to be on the team bus for the journey to the Stadium Light as the Millers go in search of their first league win of the new campaign.

"Andre and Grant were really close for the Blackburn game," manager Matt Taylor said after watching his ten-man side hold out for a point against Rovers after having Fred Onyedinma sent off.

"Tom was as well. I was expecting him to be in the squad and was disappointed when he didn't make it. He felt a bit of tightness the day before the match."

Green joined the club on a two-year deal earlier this month after a successful trial and has yet to make his debut; Hall hasn't featured since the final pre-season, at Lincoln City on July 29; and Eaves has been out of action since the players returned from their summer break at the end of June.

Injuries are hitting Rotherham hard so Taylor will be delighted to add them to his options.

Midfielder Christ Tiehi, who is due to finalise a permanent move from Czech Republic side Slovan Liberec next week, may also make the matchday 20.

"We need all the bodies we can get," the boss said.
