Rotherham United Women's captain Sidni Simmons cherishes a special milestone

Sidni signed up as a 16-year-old and quickly established herself in the first team, gaining a deserved reputation for no-nonsense defending and a rocket-like shot.

The set-piece specialist got her just rewards last summer when she was handed the club captaincy.

She made her 100th appearance in the recent home game against SJR Worksop.

"Reaching 100 appearances for my childhood club is a really proud moment for me and my family, and one I’ll always cherish," she said.

"To captain this club and do it alongside such a great group of girls makes it even more special.

"Thank you to everyone who’s supported me along the way – and hopefully there’s many more appearances to come.

"Once a Miller, always a Miller!"

Sidni's achievement was recognised at AESSEAL New York Stadium by Rotherham United Women directors and Rotherham United men's manager Lee Clark.

Rotherham United board member Dan Wilson said: “It was a privilege welcoming Sidni to celebrate such a significant achievement.

"She has been the heart and soul of this team both on and off the pitch for several seasons now and hopefully for many more to come."
