It sees Dog Daisy United aiming for a first-time success while opponents Joker Wickersley Youth CC will strive to go one better than last year.

Dog Daisy will be seeking to add to their 2023 Mexborough Montagu Cup success. The last time that particular cup double was done was in 2015 by another Mexborough side, Memories, and some of the players who triumphed that night now play for Dog Daisy.

That win in 2015 was over the Joker who, after their great success over several decades, ended as a solitary club two years ago and merged with one of the area's largest membership clubs, Wickersley Youth CC.

Their first season together as Joker Wickersley Youth saw them win the Blades Super Draw Sunday League and the League Cup but they have not been able to emulate either success this time.

Having been runners-up in last year's Charity Cup Final to AFC 3 Feathers, their aim will be to lift the trophy this time.

Dog Daisy are battling on several Cup fronts and have added the George Jowett Trophy to the 'Mont' but lost out in the Mexborough Sunday League Cup Final, 2-1 to Queens United.

They are strong favourites to win the Mexborough Sunday League Premier Division title for a fourth straight time and are in the Mexborough Challenge Cup Final (on May 19 v Swinton WMC at Mexborough) and the Steve Venables Memorial Trophy semi-final.

There will be extra time tomorrow night if necessary.
