FOOTBALL: Groundbreaking night for Rotherham United Women at AESSEAL New York Stadium

They will take on Mansfield Town Ladies tonight for the inaugural “Her Game Too” Shield.

The match, which kicks off at 7pm, is taking place in partnership with the pioneering women-in-sport organisation and will see representatives attend on the night.

Team manager Pete Jarvis said: “We are delighted. With the Women’s Euros happening here last year, we really wanted to build on the momentum because it showed there is a real appetite in the area for women’s football.

“We hope to draw in a really good crowd. It’s an opportunity to see our women’s team and I’m sure that for some people it will be the first time.”

Chairman Jamie Noble added: “We’re pleased to be working alongside a pioneering women’s football organisation like Her Game Too.

“This match will be the first of its kind and will become an annual one to win the unique Her Game Too Shield.”

The match is all ticket and booking is online only, with prices ranging from £2 (concessions and OAPS) to £4 and a booking fee applying.

Parking is available for £2 and gates open at 6pm.
