Football club issues SOS call

ONE of Rotherham's top amateur football clubs could be just months from folding unless financial backing can be found.

Dinnington Town has issued another SOS appeal as it struggles to cope with falling gates, high running costs and a chronic lack of sponsorship.

Several appeals have fallen on deaf ears and there is a possibility both its senior teams could disappear.

First team manager Steve Toyne, who has pumped in his own money to keep the club going, said: "This is not us crying wolf. We will try to keep the club going but at the moment the future is very doubtful."

Town are deep in relegation trouble in the Northern Counties East League while their second team is also struggling in the County Senior League.

Anyone able to help Dinnington Town in any way is asked to call Steve on 07969 282525.
