Fond farewell to Grabban

LEWIS Grabban leaves Rotherham United with high praise about his conduct as a person and as a professional.

The forward moved to AFC Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee, bringing a profit on a player signed by previous boss Andy Scott on a free transfer from Brentford only 12 months ago.

Although manager Steve Evans was disappointed to lose the forward, who netted 21 goals in league and up and topped the division's scoring chart, he accepted his desire to move back down south and speaks highly of his conduct.

Evans said: "The people that know me know that I speak my mind and I can genuinely say that Lewis conducted himself in an excellent manner in the time I worked with him.

"He is a player who in my opinion deserves to play at a higher level and in the games that I have been the manager he has sparkled.  He will be difficult to replace because there are not too many wide players who scored 18 goals last season. However we will do our best to fill that gap."
