Festive bonus in sight

ROTHERHAM United aim to complete a cracking Christmas by getting the better of two of their rivals near the foot of the Championship over the next few days.

Steve Evans' scored their first win in ten at Wigan Athletic on Saturday and in doing so climbed to 19th in the table and opened up a lead of seven points over their Lancashire rivals.

And with Huddersfield, level on points with the Millers, providing the Boxing Day opposition at the AESSEAL New York Stadium and a trip to rock bottom Blackpool to follow on Sunday, it's a chance to open up further daylight above the bottom three.

Rotherham will be looking to carry on where they left off at Wigan, where goals from Leicester City loanee Tom Lawrence and the experienced Alex Revell capped a 2-1 win.

Evans said: "Wigan had five or six minutes at the start when they had a go but we were a country mile in front of them for the rest of the half.

"It was another super performance from us but we won't get carried away."
