Evans: violence was "disgusting"

MILLERS boss Steve Evans says the actions of some Millwall fans at Saturday's New York Stadium clash were "disgusting".

It was the first time there have been violent outbursts inside the ground as the London club lost the vital relegation tussle 2-1. Riot police were called in to stem the trouble.

Evans today joined in the condemnation.

He said: "I didn't see it at the time but have seen the footage since and have to say it was a minority of Millwall fans who were involved.

"The majority behaved impeccably, but to see a minority run towards the family stand and be threatening and abusive - and then to see stewards and police with cut faces - is just disgusting.

"This minority need to be weeded out and not allowed anywhere near football."
