MANAGER Steve Evans hailed the efforts of his Rotherham United side after they battled to a hard-earned draw at Fleetwood Town last night.

Although it ended their four-match winning run, there were plenty of positives to be taken from the 1-1 draw which saw the Millers stretch their unbeaten run to five games in all competitions.

Kari Arnason gave Rotherham the lead after 19 minutes when home keeper Scott Davies failed to claim a Mark Bradley free-kick, giving the Iceland international the opportunity to fire home from the edge of the area.

Two minutes later Fleetwood were back on level terms when veteran striker Jon Parkin slotted Shaun Beeley’s cross past Andy Warrington.

Davies made up for his earlier error by first denying Gareth Evans from close range before making an excellent save from an Alex Revell header that looked destined for the back of the net 12 minutes from time.

Evans was full of praise for his side, saying: "The Fleetwood fans saw their team get a heroic draw and I don't think the home fans will see a better visiting team there this season. We have to accept the finishing wasn't what it should be to kill a team off but their goalkeeper pulled off two wonder saves.”

The Millers travel to Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday hoping to continue their impressive form and pick up a win that will see them move closer to the top three in League Two.
