Defeat was heart-breaking, says Ronnie

ROTHERHAM United chief Ronnie Moore vented his fury after seeing his side beaten by a hotly disputed goal at Bradford City last night.

TV replays appear to show that City's stoppage time winner bounced down off the crossbar and didn't cross the line.

Linesman Richard Clark thought otherwise and despite long and furious protests from the Rotherham players, substitute Tom Adeyemi's effort stood to give them a 2-1 win.

Moore said: "All my lads tell me it didn't go over the line and three of the Bradford boys said the same. They can't all be wrong.

"The game was petering out to a draw and to lose it to such a controversial decision is heart-breaking.

"I feel for the referee because he didn't think it had gone in but he's got to go with his linesman but everybody seemed to know that it wasn't a goal."

The Millers trailed a 16th minute strike from Lewis Hunt—the ninth successive away game they had gone behind.

Marcus Marshall equalised seven minutes before half time before an end-to-end second half saw the Millers' Callum Kennedy and City's Jake Speight hit the woodwork.

Moore left out top scorer Adam Le Fondre because he said he wanted to rest him for Saturday's game against Bury.

"He's looked a little bit jaded in the last few games so we rested him. Hopefully he will be nice and fresh for Saturday," said Moore.

The defeat was Rotherham's seventh in the last nine away games and means they lost further ground on the top three in League Two.

They trail third-placed Wycombe by five points.
