Dawson title bid is confirmed

FIGHTER Neil Dawson will get the chance to become the first British title holder for 91 years after a deal was struck this week to face cruiserweight champ Jon Lewis Dickinson.

Dawson will face Dickinson at Gateshead Leisure Centre on February 22 and he says: “I just can’t wait.”

The Thorpe Hesley 33-year-old was made mandatory challenger for the crown after demolishing Chris Keane in Walsall in May — his last outing. Since then he’s had to hold fire until purse details and the respective management teams thrash out a date.
