Cricket team appeals for players

FANCY a leisurely game of cricket on Sundays?

Rotherham Locusts need players for the half a dozen or so friendlies matches they play each season.

Founded in 1959, the team struggled for numbers last year because more and more clubs are entering Sunday leagues. Scholes and Wentworth, the two clubs Locusts draw most players from, are also playing Sunday league cricket this season.

Organiser Danny Brailsford said: “I am not expecting every player to play every game, just whenever they can. We just play friendlies for fun, enjoyment and socialising.

“I don't care how good or bad, old or young you are. All I ask is that you are reliable and turn up to play when you say you will.”
