Cresswell injury sours Millers win

ROTHERHAM United's victory over Aldershot Town on Saturday was soured by a bad injury to team captain Ryan Cresswell.

The influential centre-half broke his collar bone in the second half of the League Two clash at Don Valley Stadium and is set to be out for three months.

Manager Ronnie Moore said: "It's bad. The collar bone is broken and displaced as well. It's a massive blow for us."

Adam Le Fondre's 17th goal of the season proved the difference between the sides.

The Millers' leading scorer swooped on 40 minutes to turn in a cross from man-of-the-match Marcus Marshall.

Rotherham deserved the victory but had a let-off when Wade Small missed a penalty for the visitors on the half-hour mark.

Moore said: "The first ten minutes weren't brilliant but after that I thought we dominated the game.

"We had so many chances to kill them off and when you don't take them then you sometimes get done at the other end but we defended well when we had to and the clean sheet was a bonus for us."

The win took the Millers up to fourth in League Two ahead of Saturday's trip to Torquay United.
