Coventry eye Le Fondre

MILLERS striker Adam Le Fondre is being linked with Coventry City.

Rotherham chairman Tony Stewart said there had been interest from the Championship outfit and that there might be developments this week. Sheffield Wednesday are also said to be interested.

It leaves manager Andy Scott wondering whether he will have Le Fondre to call upon for Saturday's League Two opener against Oxford United at Don Valley Stadium.

Rotherham are understood to want more than £500,000 for the player.

Striker Tom Pope, meanwhile, has left the club after his contract was terminated by mutual consent. The 25-year-old, who joined for a fee of £150,000 from Crewe two years ago, has been out of the first team picture.

A young Millers side won 2-1 at Parkgate last night in their final warm-up game.

Gareth Evans and Luke Beedham scored for Rotherham, with Nathan Forbes-Swindells on target for the Steelmen.
