Comeback pleases Evans

MANAGER Steve Evans has saluted Rotherham United's "tremendous reaction" in taking a point from last night's match at Wycombe Wanderers.

A second-half double from Daniel Nardiello cancelled out Joel Grant's early opener before a late equaliser from substitute Gary Doherty made it 2-2.

And while disappointed not to get all three points, Evans was pleased with the way his side went about their business after a poor start.

He said: "The first 20 minutes weren't acceptable. People had paid hard-earned money to follow us down there. I was disappointed with their first goal and it didn't give us time to settle.

"We got on top in the last 20 minutes of the first half but there were a few words said in the dressing room at half time and the reaction in the second half was tremendous.

"We got two great individual goals from Nardiello from two fantastic deliveries."

The draw lifted the Millers up to fifth spot in League Two, level on points with Saturday's opponents Cheltenham.

With defender Mark Bradley out for the rest of the season having fractured his ankle, Evans is now looking to bolster his squad with new blood for the run-in.
