Charity cricket match in memory of 'Hank'

A CHARITY cricket match will be held in memory of former Rotherham United club doctor Subhankar 'Hank' Chatterjee this weekend.

Sunday's match starts at 1pm at Whiston Parish Church CC with all proceeds going to Rotherham Hospice.

The game is a Twenty20 between a Rotherham Doctors XI and Whiston Village XI.

Hank worked as club doctor for the Millers for 20 years from the mid-1970s to the mid-1990s.

He sadly passed away in December last year at the age of 80.

Former England cricketer John Hampshire, who was a very close friend of Hank's, will be presenting the trophy to the winning team.

Hank was a big Rotherham United fan and also enjoyed exploring and loved going to the theatre. Previously he had worked as a general practitioner.
