Caroline Boyd-Southern takes top spot at the Midlands Off-Road Duathlon Series

The 61-year-old from Maltby took top spot in the Midlands Off-Road Duathlon Series, held over three rounds.

STALWART Caroline Boyd-Southern is celebrating after lifting a top trophy on the run-in to Christmas.

Caroline completed the previous rounds at Clumber Park and Sherwood Pines to lead the way in her age group — and in the weekend’s finale at Holme Pierrepoint in Nottingham she made no mistake to finish on top of the podium.

Caroline had to complete a 5k run, a 16k bike race and finish off with a 4k run in the event, timing 1:49.00

She said: “It was tough going but enjoyable. I wanted to get under the two-hour mark and managed it.”
