BREAKING: Millers refuse to comment on Halford tweets

FORMER Rotherham United captain Greg Halford got himself in hot water after sending out cryptic tweets prior to Friday's defeat to Burnley.

The versatile 30-year-old wrote 'Politics absolute shambles' at around 6.40pm before posting 'I can't wait till everything comes out' just over 20 minutes later.

Prior to the 2-1 defeat, rumours were rife in the stands about the meaning of the tweets - but the posts from Halford were soon deleted.

Caretaker manager Eric Black said following the game when asked about Halford's tweets: "I haven't seen it (Halford's tweets) but I have an idea.

"It's modern day football, people have their own opinions on things but I'm not losing any sleep over it, I was focussing on the players that were there and we will address that (Halford's tweets) on Monday morning."

The Advertiser has today contacted Rotherham United to ask for a statement on the matter, but the club refused to comment.
