Boxers ready for tough tests

BOXERS Nav Mansouri and Jerome Wilson face make-or-break tests at Magna next week.

Rotherham’s Mansouri faces Brummie Dee Mitchell in pursuit of his ninth straight pro win, going over six, three-minutes rounds for the first time in his career.

Wilson, who also fights out of Dave Coldwell’s town centre gym, will do likewise when he squares up to the dangerous Jay Morris.

Coldwell believes both fighters will get their sternest tests yet in the rescheduled show, postponed last month because of illness.

“It’s a big step up for both of them,” said Coldwell.

“Mitchell has sparred with Ryan Rhodes and when Ryan found out about the fight he did say it could be a tough one for Nav.

“Mitchell will be a good opponent in that he never gets stopped and will bring out the best for Nav.

“Jermone tatkes on Jay Morris who fought before at Magna when he was beaten by Curtis Woodhouse. He’s the guy who beat Curtis in Belfast before the re-match and we know exactly what he’s capable of.”

The show is on April 10 at Magna and tickets are now available from the venue's box office.
