Black named in corruption claims

FORMER Millers assistant and caretaker manager Eric Black is the latest figure to be named in the Daily Telegraph football investigation into bungs.

The paper claims Black attended a meeting with an agent and an undercover reporter earlier this month in a hotel in the south, where he was recorded on secret camera allegedly discussing payments.

Black, currently assistant manager at Premier League Southampton, has denied the claims while his club says it is working with the FA and the Premier League on the matter.

The Scot joined Rotherham as first team coach in July 2015 and worked as caretaker manager briefly and then as assistant manager before leaving in January this year.

He has also worked at Motherwell, Coventry, Birmingham, Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers.

There is nothing to suggest Rotherham Unuted are involved in any way.
