Ban for Titans player

FRUSTRATED Titans coach Alex Codling has slapped a one-match ban on lock Dan Sanderson, saying: “Ill discipline won’t be tolerated.”

Sanderson was given his seventh yellow card of the season during Sunday’s 30-20 defeat at Bristol, after tripping an opponent.

Codling, who was clearly unhappy after the match, promptly handed the ban on the player — ironically one of Rotherham’s best performers this season — with the aim of sending a clear message to the rest of the Clifton Lane squad.

Said Codling: “The club have imposed a one-match ban on Dan Sanderson following his recent poor discipline. We want to send out a clear message to all the players in our squad that ill discipline will not be tolerated."

Meanwhile, Codling had brought in hooker Jared Saunders from Premiership Saracens.

He could feature in tomorrow’s home date against Aberavon in the British and Irish Cup. Kick-off is 2.30pm.
