Ashley gets China call

The Thurcroft teenager, who is chasing a place on the pro circuit, will compete in the top tournament in Beijig from July 11-19.

It’s the latest in a string of achievements for the 18-year-old and the news came in a call last week when hasty travel arrangements had to be made.

Said dad John: “I think we were all surprised when we found out that he was going. It was a case of saying yes and then worrying later about howe to get there but thankfully we managed to get him on the same place as the other lads.

“Everyone thought all the places in the tournament had been filled but then one cebame available and Ashley was the one picked to fill it.”
