ANOTHER sign that winter is behind us is that the Ravenfield Ponds AC fished the fifteenth and last winter league match of the series last weekend when for once everyone caught something!

Barry Heappey was the match winner alternating between the pole and the waggler for a winning level 5lbs from peg 9.

At the adjoining peg, number 10, Mick Bostock lost by just half an ounce weighing 4lbs 15.5ozs for second which left Dave Howitt in third place with 3lbs 2ozs.

Stuart Senior was a comfortable league winner with 95 points beating Neil Gabbitas' 85 points into second place and Barry Heappey's 76 into third.

Dave Lawton was fourth with 69 and Mick Bostock fifth with 51.5.

Wednesday's match at Lowfield Lakes was held on the Corner Pond where Joe Sedgwick was the winner with 30lbs 5ozs. Ben Fox was second with 12lbs 8ozs.

Better weights from Sunday's match which was held on the Main Lake and where Gary Weekes included some hefty carp in his winning 42lbs 13ozs net from peg 24. S

Steve Newsomme was second from peg 14 with 32lbs 7ozs beating Chris Roberts, who weighed 30lbs 7ozs, into third.

Section winners were Joe Sedgwick, 22lbs 14ozs and Louis Marshall with 19lbs 5ozs.
