ANGLING: Dave’s the best of a hardy bunch at Ravenfield

SATURDAY'S weather left much to be desired in a fishing sense.

One angler at Ravenfield said that 'it started windy…then it got very windy… and then it lashed it down'.

Despite this, everyone remained until the end in what proved to be a hard competition.

Dave Lawton repeated his recent winning form, alternating between the pole and the waggler to fish with a 5lbs 12ozs net of small fish from peg 12.

The Walkley Winter League was fished in the same conditions at Aston on the Lily and Split Lakes where the winning weights were considerably much higher, but again where many struggled.
