An enormous loss, says F1 boss Booth

MANOR F1 boss John Booth says the team will race this weekend in tragic driver Jules Bianchi’s memory.

The team head to Hungary just days after Bianchi’s funeral in his home town of Nice, the 25-year-old having lost his fight for life last Friday after sustaning head injuries in a crash at the Japanese Grand Prix.

Bianchi had been in a coma since crashing into a recovery vehicle at a rain-hit race last October.

He is the first F1 driver to die from injuries sustained in a grand prix since Brazilian triple world champion Ayrton Senna was killed at the San Marino Grand Prix in 1994.

Booth says the Dinnington-based team have been shattered by the loss and has paid tribute to the rising star.

He said: “Words cannot describe the enormous sadness within our team as we come to terms with losing Jules."
