Adam lifts title

ADAM Hague has lifted another top title after winning the British U17 crown.

The teenager, who won the Indoor Championship in February, finished top at the Bedford event after his opening vault proved too much for the 14 other competitors.

None of the others could match the Advertiser's Young Sportsman of the Year , who put in an opening vault of 4.50m and Adam went on to clear an impressive 4.80m in windy conditions.

Adam who recently became North of England Outdoor Champion has one competition left in what has been an amazing year.

He has represented Team GB at the World Youth Championships and came sixth as well as taking gold in all the other domestic championships he has competed in.

The only remaining competition is the UK School Games, which will be held at Don Valley next week.

It will be the last event before the stadium is closed and Adam, who will be representing the North East, will be looking to finish his vaulting at Don Valley in style
