Make the most of low cost fares to our top 10 great attractions in and around Rotherham this Easter.

As we look forward to fun in the Easter holidays, here are some great ways to keep the whole family entertained – and not break the bank!

All of these places are accessible by bus, with fares of just £3 or less, and little ones will enjoy the ride as well as the destination.

1. Clifton Park and Museum

With fascinating collections and exhibitions to explore, Clifton Park Museum brings history to life for people of all ages.

The Early Rotherham exhibit takes you through the town’s history from prehistory up to the English Civil War, while Rotherham Rocks shows you the geological wonders right beneath your feet. The Ceramics Gallery also celebrates the culture and craft of locally made Rockingham pottery, including the astounding Rhino Vase.

No trip to the museum is complete without entering the Lion’s Den, where Nelson is a favourite with younger children.

2. Jump Inc

They’ll be hopping mad this Easter with toddler takeover sessions at Jump Inc in April. Buy a ticket and one adult goes free and you can also meet the Easter bunny and get a free hot chocolate per child.

It’s the bounciest fun in town, with Open Jump sessions as well as family takeover dates for a great jumping experience.

It’s a great rainy day activity to bring all the family together at the inflatable theme park which is jam-packed with exciting activities and features.

3. Rotherham Superbowl

Rotherham Superbowl is a whole new bowling experience, with the latest technology from America including ipad style consoles, automatic bumpers and flat screen monitors open from 10am until late every day.

The 24-lane tenpin bowling alley also boasts classic arcade games and fruit machines for adults and kids for a thrilling family day out. Whether you enjoy adrenaline-filled bowling or more relaxed fun, Rotherham Superbowl is just around the corner.

4. Big Apple Play City

Play, party and explore at Big Apple Play City, one of South Yorkshire’s premier play centres.

This place has epic theming with a fabulous New York take on the adventure play scene. You can survey the famous skyline, take (or drive!) a yellow cab and rage at the roadworks, then help the cops or robbers with the ball cannons and cross the Manhatten Bridge!

The unique soft play experience will keep youngsters entertained for hours and there’s an American-style diner to enjoy once they get hungry.

5. Camelot Play Castle

Look out for special events this Easter at Camelot Play Castle where little ones will enjoy soft play in the characterful former church building.

Extra activities such as dancing, baking and arts & crafts are also available every term time weekday, if you fancy a fun outing with your youngest ones once older children go back to school.

6. Grimm and Co

Grimm & Co’s Apothecary to the Magical is open to mortals too!

They believe they are quite possibly the greatest, and most renowned supplier purveying quality goods and services to magical beings, from the wicked to the sickeningly virtuous. The stockist of traditional and unconventional remedies, curses, hexes, tonics, potions, cures, spells and elixirs was established in 1148 by its celebrated founder Master Graham Grimm. Browse the goods on his shelves, then enjoy refreshments at the Magical and Feastery café.

7. Wentworth Farm

The Family Farm at Wentworth Garden Centre is great fun for all ages. Recently rebuilt and revamped, it’s the ideal place to visit with the family – and there’s lamb bottle-feeding for Easter.

Whether you’re feeding Larry the llama, putting your foot down in the mini tractor derby or getting hands-on experience with their daily animal handling sessions, there’s always something to get involved with.

Admission includes access to the sand and water play area, plus a large pirate ship climbing frame.

8. Rotherham Leisure Complex

If you’re passionate about staying fit and healthy or just want to have fun, Rotherham Leisure Complex has facilities for all.

From splashing about in a pool with a flume to indoor cycling, squash courts, fully equipped gym and even a sauna and steam room – there’s something for all the family. Find out about memberships for all.

9. Shops at Parkgate

Who doesn’t love a little retain therapy? Shopping ay Parkgate has something for everyone, from Next, H&M, JD Sports and a Nike factory store to Primark, Pavers, Smyth’s Toy Superstore and TK Maxx.

There’s also a Nando’s, Starbucks and Subway for refreshments, as well as a TUI holiday superstore to book your next holiday.

10. Lock n load

Welcome to the Funny Farm soft play area and Lock n Load, all under one roof.

For action-packed fun, this family-run business has a purpose-built laser quest gaming arena for children and adults.

The Funny Farm also encourages children to learn and develop, with an amazing sensory room along with messy play and music mornings. You’ll even find some Easter bunnies in residence!

Get bus-y

You can never be stuck for something to see or do with so much on the doorstep – and all of these are accessible by bus for fares of £3 or less.
