Bespoke window blinds for home or business: Top-rated customer reviews for this family business in Rotherham

Amanda’s Blinds in Rotherham has been dressing windows in homes, schools and businesses, for 18 years this year.
The family business was started by Darren Daley (he has over 25 years experience in the blind industry), who was joined by wife Amanda and then later his son Robert. Two of their friends make up the rest of the team – Kerry who works with Amanda in the office and Peter who does measurements, surveys and fitting.
“Our customers are at the heart of the business,” says Amanda, whose background was in customer service. “I think our customers like us because we are friendly and they trust us.”
The business won a customer service award from Barnsley Chamber of Commerce in 2019 and has more reviews on Checkatrade than any other business in the area.

What the customers say
“I highly recommend Amanda’s blinds,” said one Google reviewer. “Their service is excellent and was spoilt for choice of fabrics and colours of blinds. They were very efficient at fitting them and have elevated my conservatory. I was recommenced to them and will not hesitate to use them again,” one Google review said.
Another glowed: “Absolutely amazing excellent service lovely family business Didn't get the guy’s name who fitted them but he was so good and really nice polite and efficient. Would definitely recommend.”
As the reviews suggest, a lot of their custom comes from recommendations, and Amanda says they also get a lot of repeat custom when people move house or redecorate.
These comments from Checkatrade - which only posts verified reviews - both said they’d recommend Amanda’s.
“Highly recommended. Their work is second to none. Communication excellent kept us informed every step of the way. Their blind fitter was very polite and any questions we asked was delivered professionally a really caring individual. Well done Amanda Blinds!!!”
Another said: “They were recommended by one of my neighbours and I wasn’t disappointed. From the initial contact to them coming out to measure all the windows, and then ultimately the blind fitment they were fantastic. Truly professional and polite. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needed great blinds and service.”

Free consultation – full service from start to finish
Amanda’s Blinds don’t have a showroom -this keeps costs down for them and you and means they can bring the showroom to your door with lots of samples and ideas.
And they also carry out the measuring and fitting, so you don’t have to worry about a thing other than choosing the style, colours and materials you want. Whilst most of their customers are domestic, looking for blinds for their homes, they also do blinds for business premises including schools and care homes and all staff are fully DBS checked.
From an initial enquiry by phone or through the website or Facebook, Amanda and the team can talk through ideas and make suggestions.
Then one of the team will visit your home to bring the shop directly to you, with samples and ideas. If you decide to place an order, then they will take all the necessary measurements and then order the blinds from one of their suppliers and will return again once they’re back, to set them up and ensure a perfect fit.
“We make sure we keep our customers informed every step of the way,” said Amanda.
Appointments for consultations can even be early evenings or Saturday mornings if needed.
Whether you’ve a firm idea of what you want or you’re not sure, Amanda’s will be able to recommend solutions. And you can be confident whatever they suggest will be right for your home and window.

Passion for blinds and current trends
“We have an enthusiasm for our products, and we still get excited when new products or prints come in,” said Amanda.
Darren, who has also seen trends come and go, agrees. He said because they did not rely on one supplier, but were independent, they could access a really wide range of blind designs and materials to give customers plenty of options.
“At the moment it’s faux wood Venetian blinds and day and night blinds which are really popular,” said Amanda, who is also a part-time artist and runs community art workshops.
Giving back to the community
As a Rotherham couple and Rotherham business, Amanda’s Blinds like to give back to the community which supports them.
They sponsor local music venues – The Cutler’s Arms and Chantry Brewery Tap, Westgate, Rotherham, and they’re also a BFG at Grimm and Co. – changing lives one story at a time. This fantastic local charity promotes literacy with outreach work and events including children’s workshops every month at their Harry-Potter inspired premises which include a café and gift shop.
