Utility companies to blame for potholes

Sir-- Re  the potholes scattered around every community in the Rotherham borough, can someone from the council tell us the readers how much BT, Yorkshire Water and every otherh private company who have carried out work on our roads and left shoddy work behind paid towards the potholes?

Salisbury Road in maltby is comical from top to bottom-- the standard of work by companies on that road is scandalous.

Why doesn't RMBC invite representatives from these companies to the town hall and ask for a contribution, these companies are turning over mass profits while creating externalities, laying pipes, cable etc.  A few years later the taxpayer is left to pick up the bill. Have RMBC got the will to address this issue?
