Too much competition and not enough banks in Thurcroft
I work in one of the shops in Thurcroft and have done for 12 years, in fact, I've worked in Thurcroft all my working life which is 47 years.
Why do we need so much competition between businesses in such a small area and the business we need the most has been taken away.

Then we have five hairdressers/barber shops and recently another chemist has opened when there is a perfectly good one on the main shopping precinct.
Now can someone tell me and the majority of the village why our only bank has closed down.
The excuse we were given in a letter was that the owners were retiring. What a load of rubbish, surely the Halifax has other people who could have run it.

When they closed our Halifax, they also took away the ATM and now we only have two, and you have to take potluck as to whether there's any money in them.
Only last week, one of them was broke as someone had been tampering with it. Need I say more!
The point I'm getting at is that business is getting really bad here and I wouldn't be suprised if a few more close, leaving local people out of work and more empty shops just asking to be vandalised.
Come on you Thurcroft people, don't just sit back and let it happen
