Thanks to everyone who helped!

On Sunday August 19 my husband and I cycled from Brecks to Whiston. Everyone familiar with the area will know its downhill all the way.

On Sunday  August 19 my husband and I cycled from Brecks to Whiston. Everyone familiar with the area will know its downhill all the way.

Then comes the hard part, getting back up the hill! I was as pleased as punch to arrive at Worrygoose roundabout without having to stop. Unfortunately, when I got off my bike to cross the road the world began to spin and I ended up in a heap on the floor.

This is where I stop making light of the situation. People appeared from nowhere to help us. A lady called for an ambulance and her husband brought a glass of water.

Cheryl, a phlebotomist with the NHS stayed with us while we waited for the paramedics, a chap ran to the shop for water, while another lady, in a pink top, held my hand then once the paramedics arrived went to the shop to buy a sandwich and a drink for my hubby.

Our bikes were also taken care of, to be collected later. Please could you, through your column, thank each and every one of the people who helped us. Their kindness was and is very much appreciated.

Jane Allen, Jubb Close, Rotherham.
