Strike shows it is time for change

Sir As I write this, almost three million public sector worker are on strike, that includes many workers in Rotherham and South Yorkshire.

To show support a march and rally was organised in Rotherham town centre. Although I wasn't able to make the event I've seen and heard it was a huge success.

But this is only the start of the fight, I hope the trade unions are in for the long haul, I hope the workers are still up for the fight. As industrial action continues the workers must set a date for the next day of action, or even better we should demand a general strike.

But in the mean time this strike should open up the debate for a political alternative. We should demand for a workers' party, one that fights for the needs of the majority and not the greed of the very few.

We need to tell the ruling elite that we are not going to pay for this crisis that we haven't caused. It is no to all cuts. Its time for a change. Here, nationally and internationally.
