Rethink needed on road changes
Sir - Regarding the new road layout at Doncaster Road, Dalton. The new pedestrian island that's been created at the junction of Dalton Lane and Doncaster Road is an accident waiting to happen due to the island being too large heading out of Dalton towards
Driving past the island in my car I have noticed that there is barely room for a car, let alone one of many lorries which pass through this major road. As you approach the island you will notice a cycle lane which you have to enter leaving not much room driving in a car, let alone a van or lorry and any cyclist in that lane stands no chance.
Highway planners think again before its too late.
